PlayFootball aquires VIDA

The Sports and Leisure Group was pleased to announce that PlayFootball had acquired 3 development sites in May 2005. The sites were obtained from the administrators, Ernst and Young, who were appointed to handle the disposal of Vida.
PlayFootball has acquired the sites in Preston, Blackpool and Luton, adding 26 new pitches to the group across 3 centres. These have been added to PlayFootball’s existing sites in Portsmouth and Bournemouth sites.
Since the acquisition, the sites have been fully integrated into the PlayFootball operations. They have all been upgraded with 3rd Generation rubber crumb technology and are trading very positively.
Preston and Blackpool gave the PlayFootball group a foothold in the North west region, which together with the planned opening of PlayFootball Liverpool in May 2006, will give the business 3 sites in the region.
Luton, which following completion of the build project, opened in January 2006 has given the business a key London site.
