The market for small sided football is substantial with an estimated 2.6 million players in the UK, part of 4.0m regular football players. The standard of facilities has historically been poor, a situation which has encouraged the growth of a new generation of modern facilities to meet the changing customer demands. There are approximately 100 such branded facilities nationally and the market forecasts consumer demand for over 200.
Players
The Sports & Leisure Group operates eleven new generation small sided football centres under the PlayFootball brand. Each PlayFootball Centre receives over 2,000 individual player visits per week, 20,000 across the group per week, that’s 1 million individual visits per annum. PlayFootball has developed a strong pipeline of sites using the land partnership model.
